Improve distribution, and test prodimopy with more recent versions of pyhton and the required packages (adapt if necessary)

use automatic versioning (i.e. no version numbers in config files) and print(prodimopy.__version__)should be possible -
modernize the distribution (test with newer versions) -
remove deprecated stuff from the code (e.g. matplotlib etc.) -
update documentation if necessary
